Exterior Lighting on a Budget
Updating exterior lighting can be pricier than you expect when you first look into options. While I will want to update my lighting down the road I loved how my quick update worked out without breaking the bank.
The original lights had definitely put there time in and really just needed a clean-up and a bit of a makeover. I pulled down the three outdoor lights on our nearly 50 year old home and cleaned them up the best I could with good ol' fashioned soap and water.
Each piece was sanded down and soaked in about 30 minutes.
I then moved outdoors and sprayed everything on a plastic tarp in my driveway with my go-to spray paint I also used on my front door upgrade - Rust-Oleum Farmhouse Black Matte Paint & Primer in One.
This whole project took me less than day to complete and only $5.99 for the can of spray paint which I actually already owned. I also love the new life it gave to my dingy outdoor lights.
